Bridging Clinical Operations, Technology & Cybersecurity Risk Management

About me
I am a Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) professional who combines extensive healthcare leadership experience as a Nurse Manager with a background in software engineering to deliver a unique blend of clinical, technical, and cybersecurity expertise.
With a unique combination of healthcare leadership, software engineering, and Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) experience, I bring a multidisciplinary perspective to cybersecurity and risk management. My career spans over 13 years in healthcare leadership as a Nurse Manager, followed by software engineering and clinical informatics, enabling me to bridge the gap between clinical operations, technology, and security.
Throughout my career, I have supported healthcare organizations by strengthening governance, managing risk, safeguarding sensitive data, and promoting regulatory compliance. My experience includes user access management, HIPAA compliance, internal security assessments, risk-based decision-making, clinical application support, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure secure and compliant technology implementations.
My background in software development provides a strong understanding of secure system design, application architecture, and the technical challenges organizations face, allowing me to communicate effectively with both technical and business stakeholders. Combined with my healthcare expertise, I am uniquely positioned to identify operational risks, evaluate security controls, and align cybersecurity initiatives with organizational objectives.
I am passionate about healthcare cybersecurity, continuous learning, and helping organizations build resilient governance and compliance programs. My long-term goal is to advance into cybersecurity leadership, leveraging my clinical, technical, and GRC expertise to protect critical healthcare systems and the patients they serve.
